Lord Chief Justice,
(in Great Britain) the officer who presides over the King's Bench division of the High Court of Justice and, usually, over the Court of Criminal Appeal. Formerly, the Courts of King's Bench and Common Pleas each had its own Chief Justice, the Chief Justice of the King's Bench sometimes being referred to as the Lord Chief Justice.
